Nancy moved to the Northwest in 1972. She acquired her first horse in 1984 when she moved her family to the foothills of Mt. Spokane. Within two years Nancy and her girls, Trisha and Tyra, were spending many hours a week riding in the mountains and participating in 4-H. Nancy became a club leader and also worked on and chaired various committees in Spokane County. They also competed in open shows for a while. As Nancy worked with many horse trainers, she realized that she was not only missing the children, but that the Lord was preparing her for 2BU Youth Ranch. Nancy is now excited to have the opportunity to share her knowledge with children at risk and to assist in their healing process through management of this abundant program and individual lessons.

Tyra grew up in the Foothills of Mt. Spokane. She started learning how to ride on her pony at the age of eight and has continued stealing every minute that she can on horseback. She was in 4-H for ten-years, holding every office, competing at county level and open horse shows, was active at club level and attended Spokane Junior and Teen Leadership. Tyra has taught Western and English riding lessons at her home, and will organize each session and instruct our youth. She will also be responsible for making sure our horses are sound, healthy, and happy for each given session.

Cierra was born and raised right here in the presence of the ranch. She started riding at the young age of three and has been riding nonstop since. Cierra was involved in 4-H and Wahset (Washington High School Equestrian Team) alongside riding and volunteering with her experience of teaching the youth here at 2BU. She accomplished her goal of receiving her AAS in Business and will also be taking marketing classes. You can find her in the free time that she has available coaching for Mead Wahset Team, taking photos and enjoying time with her horses and dogs. Cierra’s goal is to continue mentoring the youth while also marketing our ranch and yet still continuing to show her horses along with coaching and working with the youth in the community.

A board member since 2018, Barbara was drawn to the story of 2BU Youth Ranch knowing that many kids today are hurting and need a place to find acceptance, a place to grow and encouragement to reach their full potential. She has been an IT professional for 30+ years and is happy to be able to use her administrative skills to support 2BU.
